Description

Photography from my backyard. We have a mated pair of barred owls who live here year round and hunt during the day time hours once the babies have hatched, mom and dad both leave the nest to hunt and feed the young! We have not seen any of the baby owls yet but I am sure it is only a matter of time, last night they were VERY active and I can hear them from my office window that looks into the deck and back yard, I do believe we heard the call of one of the babies! Today the mom was out in the backyard taking a little nap (I have some other photos of her sleeping) and looking for food, I startled her a bit when I got close, but she remained a good sport as she usually does <3 I love my owls. I was about 10-20 yards below and out with a telephoto lens.
