he can not win for losing
A quiet night? No such luck. Always hear something, even the silver fish crawling between the wall and wall paper! Too much work to tear it down. Use a shoe to smack it with. But more work with the squeaky floor. Tear it up, too? Nah. Earplugs! Thanks for the laughs. :-)
If he has any sense, he will ignore the floor, go to bed and put a pillow over his head. He will be exhausted with all this "rest" he is getting.
