I am amazed anyone could see the sign up there. Must be a mill or something similar. x
I bet it has been there for ages already :-) So well spotted and captured, Nikolay.
Gritty and powerful, and also a bit depressing!
Fascinating textures...
good work !
Outstanding post work my friend. God bless.
Stunning shot!
A wonderful capture, a Nikolay. Hugs for all day. DiDi. xx
cool urbex shot
A renovators delight, as some Real Estate agents would call it here, in Australia and I do believe in recycling... but a much bigger delight is your vision of urban/country decay, with your knack and talent to change it into a piece of art, the subdued tones are a perfect blend and match, Nikolay...
Cheers Brit
I'm always so drawn to brick walls with personality. The bricked-in openings tell a story of a building that was used for something, then something else, and perhaps later yet another thing. I always wonder about the life of such a structure. This is a wonderful find!
First, Nikolay, I really thought I'd commented on this and the next couple of images. I'm sorry: Sometimes I look at an image, and formulate all kinds of feelings about it (this happens often in your gallery), and I plan to comment on it later. But then I don't always return, because I have it in my mind that I've already communicated with it. Well, I have, and I wish my thoughts could travel by air. But I'll not catch up on several comments since March, which is a pleasure anytime of the year...
Brigitte and Tara said it beautifully. Brigitte: "but a much bigger delight is your vision of urban/country decay, with your knack and talent to change it into a piece of art, the subdued tones are a perfect blend and match, Nikolay..." Ditto. Someone commented that the sign up there is barely visible: I love that you draw attention to the sign, in your title, when it's so small. Because the overwhelming fact of this shot is the massivity of that wall. Bricks in every delineation (Tara loved that), patterns galore, and a sense of deep old age with lots of mystery and even pain hidden in it. God knows what's passed behind these bricks. And your sharpness is acute, the move from sooty black on bottom through that peach beige, and then into deep dark brown on top, makes a 'sandwich' out of this beast. And then a deep overcast sky, pregnant with a coming storm. A great shot. With the sky broken up by a few thin lines and a chimney: Such contrast between sky and building. A great shot, with big contrast, and sharpness and yet hidden stories. Another very special Nikolay vision...
