Description
The phrase 'Entre chien et loup', litterally meaning 'between dog and wolf', is a popular expression to convey the subdued light at dusk, in the twilight hours when it gets difficult to adjust our eyesight to what we are looking at...Shot on a chilly Sunday evening, not far from home... Thank you so much for your nice comments on my previous post. Have a nice week and zoom in for better light and details !

Jean-Luc, this is a wonderful photo that really does take you're breath away thanks to the lighting.
This is an excellent!
Wonderful twilight shot. I'm French (by birth, though I've lived in the U.S. since the age of five), yet I never heard the expression 'Entre chien et loup', so thanks for teaching me that. At first, I thought the two figures on the path might be the dog & wolf...
Thank you for your comment and glad to hear there's French blood in your veins ! As for the phrase ' entre chien et loup' , it probably dates back from the time when you had to be careful whom you might come across, on getting back home, taking paths and trails here and there in the countryside. I like very much these phrases coming from rural life , whether in the English language or French. Voilà ;-)
Quelle fantastique lumière sur ce petit coin de forêt hivernale, une lumière qui transfigure ce lieu en lui apportant de la magie! Une image réellement splendide, Jean-Luc!
Fantastic photo of a wonderful moment, the last light of the day. I like how the light is illuminating the path. You have captured the mood perfectly.
So beautiful dear, Jean Luc. Hope you were wrapped up warm, it looks cold. Hugs. Di Di xx
Et voilà que je me surprends à chanter "Twilight time" (popularisé notamment par les Platters) en admirant ta superbe photo. Je suis jaloux, nous n'avons pas eu de la neige comme ça ici !
A beautiful capture of the last light of the day.A wonderful winter scene, Jean-Luc.
