Description
it was on top of the original Mobil building for so many years. It was there in 1968, my first time to visit Dallas

it is in front now of the Omni Hotel and the one on the old Mobil Building is a duplicate
That's a big peg on that building, very cool.
Do they still have Mobile Stations, all of them have vanished around here, great image
there are some still around. I almost never buy gas there because they are always higher priced
Well done
That is cool!
Great capture of this icon
Great capture!!!
great POV
Oh, this is so impressive to see, and a great, huge photo, Richard. Also it's a very distinctive design and architecture.
What a beautiful capture, it looks awesome racing across the front of the hotel on this screen.
Very nice scene and lighting!!! Excellent work
OUtstanding capture !!!
I have seen this horse when I was very very young !!! superb shot !!!
It is nice that this has been preserved and still on display, great shot!
Nostalgia - my first job - working at a Mobile gas station.
Nice shot, and I'm glad they saved this historic sign.
Super
I haven't seen one of those in ages!
Amazing shot.
I love this sign. i do not see they gars places any more also. If i did i may have not noted them
It's sure is big who gets the task of washin it then
wow!
Brings back lots of memories! I haven't seen a mobile station in years. I believe Mobil is owned by Exxon, now. I sure remember those big 'flying horse' signs when we traveled back when I was a kid.
Cool shot, Richard!
Very cool looking capture!
You said you were going to post this, and I was really happy when you did---and twice. You couldn't have showcased it better: You have it as a triumphal "top" to this pic, even though it's some distance in front of the hotel. It's still composed as a huge top-center to it all--- very dramatic! And it stands out, too, because of its deep reds against all that blue. Your tilt allows that horse to appear level; and the detail in the horse if very visible (something we expect from you, because of how well you do it): We can see the metal panels in the sign, as well as the neon tubing, and the back of the opposite side. There's almost a halo around the building too. Beautiful capture of what looks like a difficult shot to capture. A real beauty.
