Description
This cut through the mountain near the summit of Logan Pass must have been the cheapest solution to the problem - the problem being in completing Going-to-the-Sun Road. Glacier National Park, Montana.
There was very little evidence of glaciers on this day, partly because of the smoke and haze, but also due to global warming. I came through here 37 years ago at about the same time of the year, and there were more glaciers visible. According to a Park Ranger they expect the glaciers to be gone by 2030. I hope he is wrong.

WOW... What a fantastic mountain... Fantastic capture also!
Beautiful scene
global warming is very scary, but your capture is beautiful. I was almost to Montana with only 20 some miles to go, but I know this park is in the far NE corner
lovely land
Beautiful shot.
Exellent.
beauty !
Fascinating photo. Global warming is for real
Great shot. I was on the same road 25 years ago in August and there were plenty of glaciers to see.
Fantastic view!
Beautiful!!!
Nice shot. Unfortunately, when we visited Glacier there were mud slides all over the Going-To-The-Sun Road & it was closed to automobile traffic. Fortunately, we had just visited Grand Teton & Yellowstone parks & had enjoyed their magnificence, which blunted our disappointment at Glacier...
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
A very impressive capture but it is a shame the glaciers are disappearing. Ours are too worse luck.
Wow, what a scene! Incredibly lovely, and I hope he's wrong too, although I have a sinking feeling he isn't :(
very nice
