Description
Five days of rain in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix) and five days of snow up north (anything in Arizona north of Phoenix) resulted in some good snow packs. Going up to Flagstaff wasn't save, since everybody wanted to see the snow. Arizonans are not used to driving in snow, they are lousy drivers to begin with (always too fast and tailgating) so I decided to go to Prescott - lower in elevation than Flagstaff (~5,200-ft vs ~ 7,000-ft) and looked at some of the snow.
This picture was taken from Iron Springs Road, which was clear, between Prescott and Skull Valley yesterday at about noon, elevation 6,100-ft. Today they are getting more snow showers up north.
This picture was taken on 9 January 2016, Sig...

Beautiful
Looks like some deep snow - a very appealing winter landscape with the shadows helping to reveal the outlines of the topography...
Beautiful capture my friend !!!
A very beautiful winter wonderland in glorious sunshine.
Untouched snow is beautiful as your photo shows. But when you have to shovel it...
I think the entire USA has a larger share of numb nuts driving on the streets. exceptional beauty
I agree Richard!
That's a lot of snow! BEautiful!
Superb capture my friend. Something that many of us in South Africa is not used to see snow. We do get snow falls in winter in some areas of South Africa. We did see some snow flocks here in Pretoria which is a rare sight. I did see snow 4 times in my lifetime. When i lived in Newcastle,Kwazulu Natal i once saw snow and in some areas there the snow fall was heavy that in some places it was at knee level hight when one walked in the snow. God bless.
@kgb224: You would like this scene. We don't get any snow in Phoenix either, but only 150 miles to the north is Flagstaff at an elevation of ~7,000-ft. Fifty miles north of Phoenix it is often possible to get snow because of the elevation.
Beautiful shot!
wonderland indeed
Shining.
