I thought the table was pretty cool, but fell in love with the way it was lit. Look at the shadows, and the reflected light on the wall. Whoever did the lighting for this piece was brilliant at their job! Plus, that's some seriously nice metal work. Look at how beautifully the different layers nest together!

A very unique design & I agree with you about the shadows (& what looks to me like an abstracted eyeball floating like a surreal moon in the "sky" of your photo). I also checked out your link & found a lot of very beautiful metal work there as well. A fine shot & thanks for sharing this find with us...
yeah, I can see the 'sinister' in it (andrea), but it appears to me like a fountain of tentacles pouring to the floor. And also like they're "en pointe"---on tip toes (ballet), standing at attention in a delicate pose. Your capture puts it to one side, allowing us to see the shadows and the reflection above. And your crop: In addition to removing objects from either side, it shows the sculpture as 'part' of its environment---ie, not the 'only' thing to look at. (The way a centered composition would do.) In other words, you presented the lighting as equal to the art. I love that you're doing these art uploads, talking about art and artists...And bravo on your comments on the curating: People who make these exhibits can be artists in their own right, they'll make art out of presentation, itself---sometimes breathtakingly. This is beautifully lit/presented: The people who did this understood shadow and reflection, for sure. Love the upload. I'll check out the link later.

The feeling is of a sci-fi squid (Darth Squid?). I agree with the others that the lighting and the shadows produced by it are inspired. An excellent capture and presentation.
