Description

At the left side of this image, Google fiber optic cables (miles) are being "inserted" into ten inch plastic conduits, fifteen feet under ground. I had seen television mention of this coming phenomenon, but had no idea of the complexity... amazing ! http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/27/technology/google-fiber-new-cities/index.html

An interesting shot of this procedure. I've driven by sites like this and seen them inserting cable into a hole in the ground and wondered how they managed to get the cable through the conduits.

I clicked a pic of a few pieces of the conduit pipe, and didn't realize that it's walls are about 2 inches thick.

Weather has been damp, but hasn't stopped progress... fiber optic cables have been installed, along with manholes for access to freshly buried cables within fifteen feet deep, now covered, ditches ***
