odd, I don't see a darker cast, but I do see a meshwork across the image, like a finely woven screen or like you placed the photo on a canvas-like backing. That darkens the image...whatever the case, the gentle weave of your treatment does give more contrast and darkening, and it feels like it has a slighter larger tonal range. In all these variations you stayed close to the forest itself, you respected the original. Sweet work, Mike. I know how these can take time and thought. And your original was gentle and inviting to begin with...
