More from the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas. This is looking down the outer ring of stupas toward some of the beautiful Montana mountains that surround the garden.
For those of you keeping track:
We arrived at our Texas home on Sunday after a 56-day motorhome trip from Washington State. It was a wonderful trip, but we're glad to be stationary for a while! We've spent the past couple of days unloading the motorhome, doing little repair projects, and visiting with friends we haven't seen since April. I haven't spent any time in the galleries here over the past several days, but am looking forward to having some time to catch up and see what you've been up to. I won't attempt to comment on everything I've missed ... that would be crazy ... but there's an art wallow in my near future! :P
All is well here. Our area wasn't hit by the flooding that was so widespread in other parts of Texas. It was a wet summer though, so we're being plagued by mosquitoes, which is unusual here at this time of year.
I'll be back on line in a day or two, once I've got my chores done. :)

Take your time, as you've been traveling a long time, and I know settling in always takes time. Relax, stretch out, enjoy---you guys earned it.
This is a very sweet procession shot, very sweet repetition, like a Guard lined up for inspection. (Did you mean "stupas"? Well, Buddhism was set down in a different language ((Pali)), and maybe 'supa' was how it was said. Sorry I missed it, whatever it is!) They're wonderful looking little shrines, with I think buddhas in each one, and I really like your angle and how it sweeps us into the background. And the mountains in the background are gentle and peaceful. We can also see white buddhas in the background---love how they peek into the shot---and they look like wonderful chess pieces. Lovely pov, it sweeps into the distance; and there's color variation in each structure too. This place gave you and Bill lots of photographic inspiration!

This photo is just marvellous, and it really gives a feel for the size of the place.

What a great repetition pf patterns... And you've even made a leading line out of it - it just pulls you right into the photo (and I wish it would... I'm not liking this 'new' position at work very much so far...).

I have to say getting to work yesterday - or anywhere near downtown Kansas City for that matter - was a challenge of epic proportions, to put it mildly.

Seeing this line of stupas in Montana's Big Sky Country reminded me of an old Firesign Theatre parody sung to the tune of Home on the Range. The monks are lined up in prayer and chanting "Om, Om....Range". I love the perspective. If you hadn't told us this could easily be seen as an image taken in the Himalayas. You know what Joan Rivers said about housekeeping? "Why bother. You'll only have to do it all over again in six months." Rest up and enjoy be off the road. Cuba awaits.

I didn't know that place. I'm studying actually Buddhism Art in India, in Le Louvre school.
