While getting high marks is nice, in the end it's what I think of my art that really matters. People are fickle... liking something one day, then something else the next.

To paraphrase a famous quote, "you can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time and screw the rest of 'em... they're douchebags any way".

I really enjoy your images and even though my comment(s) are often short, they come from the heart.

Ute, I just read your description for this, and wanted to say that I stopped doing fav's when RR changed the site. I think the site change is awful, geared to making money, but not to artists. And when I get fav'd, I never know who gives it, and I have no way of finding out who gives it, except by looking in everyone's fav-lists, which takes forever. Before the RR "change," I fav'd a huge number of images, and I wrote long comments in my fav's too. But now RR has erased all those comments---every one---which I complained about loudly. I was told, "no one reads them anyway, so we removed them." That was the end of that. But please know that, when I comment here, I give everything I can to your beautiful and highly creative work, as well as to the detail you put into it. I'm not a 3D artist, but I can imagine what goes into setting-up pieces like yours. And you infuse your work with wonderful humor as well. In my last session (yesterday), I may not have fav'd or "liked" anything, but that's only because I frankly forgot to do it, I mean it was that simple...because I was totally wound up in your art. So know that your whole gallery is a big fav for me, and a giant "like" as well. I'll try to remember doing it more often. And as far as the charts go, some of us---esp in 2D, which is one of the least looked-at gallery on RR---have never gotten on those charts. And many of us have never been considered for honors or awards either. (It's never happened to me, and I posted 2D for a long time before I started posting photography and photo-manipulations.) I've just come to take that for granted, even though my 2D work takes hours for me to do. So I fully understand that you want to be recognized more, for all the terrific work you do; and I'll remember that when I comment. But know that I stopped faving (for everyone) only because RR made it so uncomfortable. Removing our fav texts was inexcusable. And not notifying us of who fav'd us is equally so.

As for the image, this is another terrific image in your london series. You have wonderful dappled fog. Wonderful architecture, with that big "room" jutting out over the street. The wonderful criss-crossed patterns on the street. A woman in distress, and whe don't know why. The man in the distance, who obviously has a meaning to the woman, but we're not sure exactly how. Lots of mystery (and mysterious fun). And your attention to detail in her dress, her purse (small and delightful), her green nail polish, her squared glasses, that great parasol (umbrella), etc, etc. And the mood of a dark foggy night in London, where something weighty is going on, but we don't know what it is. Wonderfully conceived and done, Ute. And another great piece in your Halloween series. (Btw, is that a coffin behind the woman? If it is, it sure adds an air of mystery to the piece.) Another halloween delight from you!
