Description
There are very many of these beauties around at present, in shades of black, brown and orange.
This boy/girl was at a dinner party that I photographed a few days later.

He looks quite well-fed, as I would expect in your patch! You are too good to them sometimes...
What a fantastic close up. You can see the details in all their slimy goodness. Perhaps if you put up little signs pointing the way to your compost heap the little buggers will leave your plants alone.
Hmmmmm ... Having lived with these all my life, I must say, when we travel I don't miss them at all! I'm of the "teach them to fly" persuasion.
Stunning capture Andrea. God bless.
A candidate for the chop with my shears!! I like your shot though Andrea.
I admit, it looks quite beautiful, as I see this shot, but dont I like them, especially because we sometimes find a slug in the bathroom and we dont know where it comes in. It happened atleast a couple of times a week all summer. YUCK! But I could not chop it with scissors.
good, sharp shot
Looks like he got his fill too.
Nice shot but not good when they have chewed a hole in your favourite plant.
Yikes you can keep them !
The group shot is good but --- they really creep me out like mice !
The lonely one on top sure looks full to the brim !
An amazing macro, Andrea, I'm impressed by your capture of this, so well known 'fellows'. We had really far too much of these hungry beasts. What we do with it, before everything is destroyed by them, is catch them, and set them over in a meadow.
Slow motion :)
