When this first went up, I couldn't help but think of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers---only on a really bad hair day. I love how your two vampires dance---if you had some Gershwin in the background, and they went twirling all over the square, it could be a scene from a 30's Hollywood musical. The background---again, angled, for drama and sweep---is misty and dark; and the building looks like something from an old London street, or maybe a Germanic street (from the lumber detailing on the wall). And lots of fog, and a fire---nice detail. Plus, the sidewalk has a criss cross pattern on it, which adds to the sense of menace. And of course, the dancers are wonderfully macabre---wearing top hats, as if they were dancing in a 30s ballroom---and formal attire. The red ties are fine touches too, with all that black. (Red's the the color of blood, too.) And their hair and faces are pure halloween, with big smiles, no doubt anticipating their next victim. The details are terrific, right down to her garters and his collar, and the light on them feels like they're in the spotlight in a stage production. Delightfully done, Ute. Kind of like 2 vampires breaking into "Dancing Cheek to Cheek". Terrific.
