Fantastic place and shot !!!
nice catch
Like a row of strikingly tall candalabras...candelabrum? Not sure how that's supposed to go. Still, you got a really lovely capture of their branches pointing at the sky! Well composed, Harry!
Awww, poor trees. Hopefully they'll benefit from the severe pruning come next spring. Nice contrast against the pretty sky.
WOW !!! Wonderful spectral image !!!!
I love both the street, the trees against the wonderful sky. A really beautiful shot. :)
How you ever caught this mood, these colors, this almost apocalyptic feel, I'll never know. This is wonderful. The trees alone make it feel like an Old West nightmare. You caught them so well lined-up, too. (Freshly pruned?) And then there's the light and the mist. I don't know if that's real mist in the background, but your capture (and work on this shot) makes the back areas---esp on the left---fell as if they're being dissolved in morning mist. Your angle is terrific too---making counterpoint between the store fronts and cars, and the crossing angles of the front street and the parking lot, and the the perpendicular parking lines, etc. A very rich shot, linear-wise. But then there's the feeling that the light is "spilling" on the shot rather than falling on it. Terrific capture of light! And the low skyline with the trees above it like bony hands (good for Halloween). Then there's your sky, with colors reminiscent of your Mixed Media colors---very bold and almost day-glo in feel. The contrasts of the sky hues with the ground hues is marvelous. (Such pink undertones on the ground.) It has the feel of those tinted old postcards from the 30s---often made on linen paper---or, better, of a strange apocalyptic vision of a town after the blast. The lines of your right-side mall (I assume that's a mall) just make the whole shot. Terrific! Man, you live right near this? I'd never leave my home! Love what you got here, a terrific shot.
