Description
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry? ~ William Blake
I had hoped to see the big cats at the Portland Zoo but it was so hot that all I could see, when I found them, were lumps of fur lying in the shade pretending to be dead. At Fort Defiance my luck changed. I spent an hour with the pair of tigers they have there.

Love the image with the piercing eyes and beautiful markings.
Thank you for pointing out my stupid mistake in not putting 'great' in front of granddaughter in my last posting Mark. I am always in too much hurry !!
I love it... Marvelous picture and tyger !!!
Simply marvelous both photo and tiger !!!!
What a beauty! I forget what type these are, I'm thinking Sumatran perhaps? Not that I could tell, just that they are a little smaller than the Bengals at Cougar Mountain Zoo. This is an arrestingly lovely portrait!
Stunning capture my friend. God bless.
Staring through your soul this one... Great image Mark!
They say the best wildlife shots are when you can make camera/eye contact. That's certainly true ... this is terrific!
