Description
I thought I would tell you how the Large Munsterlander got its name.
The breeds originates from Germany.
Many years ago people who bred the German Longhaired Pointers, (they are brown & white) would often get a black & white pup in the litter, these pups were usually culled, until some people got together & started keeping the black & white pups & began breeding from them. They came from a region called Munster, hence Large Munsterlander. (There is a small Munsterlander but they are brown & white)
Today some breeders do get brown & white puppies in their litters a throw back from the German Longhaired Pointer.
The brown & white pups although, Large Munsterlanders & very attractive are not shown in breed shows but they can be put on the active register, which means they can be shown in, obedience, working trials, gundog trials, agility etc.
The pic is of my beloved, noisy, pain in the neck but I adored her, Carla 'B'.
Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xx
