Description
Jeff (jayfar) posted a picture of some fossil hunters, which sent me digging through last year's emails, as my image folder was deleted. I donated all of my fossils to the local historical museum last year. Mike and I were avid fossil hunters for a number of years and our best one was this mammoth tooth which the museum was quite pleased to receive, saying it might prove to be the largest Mammoth tooth found in Texas. As you can see by the size of the brick, it is quite large, about a foot tall.

Would love to have found one myself Maria.
When I visited your country I went to a place where a lot of mammoth skeletons had been found in what was millions of years ago a watering hole. They had fallen in when the rim was slippery. I cant remember where in the Mid West it was but it was very fascinating.

That was probably The Mammoth Site in South Dakota, Jeff. I have been there and took dozens of pics. I was wearing a t-shirt from there on the day I met the curator of the museum and later donated my fossil.

Very interesting, and well displayed, Helle. By mammoth, do you mean because of its size, or that it's from an elephant of the extinct Mammoth variety, with long curved tusks?
