That is one BIG cedar tree!
I still have a few chunks of cedar from when we took one out of my in-laws' yard many years ago. One day I'll figure out what to make with them...
That's the smaller of the two, from a previous upload... beautiful wood in your hands would become a work of art.
Thx for the view n comments.
Very great POV... Fantastic capture also !
Welcome back, my friend ! Your inspiration and imagination were greatly missed...
Impressive trees, they must be very old. Great shot!
I had previously estimated the ages to all be about 240 years of age, using a calculation of 24" in diameter/radius of 12", divided by .05 for a red cedar, which calcs out to 240 years... by chance, the largest white oak is 48" in diameter, with a multiplication factor of 5, which produces a "same" 240 years.
The other larger red cedar measured 36" in diameter, calculating to 360 years.
... I am beginning to believe that everything of any consequence which is growing on Earth is one massive vine, which holds things together and assumes different forms, depending upon climates :)
