The United States was settled beginning on the east coast, of course. I'm from the west coast, way up in the corner, where there is no architectural history. The first white settlers arrived in what is now Seattle in 1851. The place burned down in 1889. Anything over 125 years old here is relatively remarkable. Something as old as Dover Castle absolutely boggles my New World mind. !!! I can't wait to get over there and see such things! I'm sure I sound like a crazy American tourist, but that's okay. :P
