Description
On July 31, Ray and I took Allie, Sean and Caitlin into the way-back backyard to watch the Blue Moon rise. I was holding Caitlin as we watched the moon climb up from the horizon. She looked at the moon then up at the stars and pronounced, “The Moon puts the sparkles in the sky.” A few minutes later she told me, “I’m going to get a hammer and build some stairs up to the sky and climb up and pick all the sparkles from the sky and bring them back down. Only me and Grandma and Poppaw can go on the stairs.” The next day she relented and said she would let Allie and Sean on the stairs but only if they wore flip-flops. Only flip-flops were allowed on her stairs.
