A common predatory bug found on a range of trees across the UK, particularly hazel, hawthorn and oak. Males are extremeley rare, raising the possibility that C. virgula might be parthenogenetic.
A distinctive marked species which has very long antennae and a bright yellow cuneus, tipped with dark red. Nymphs are yellow, with red-banded antennae and a red stripe on the margins of the pronotum. Info from "British Bugs" website

A really fine shot of this tiny bug :-)
A great shot Andrea, I will have to look out for these bugs.
Great shot Andrea
beauty !! ( allthough I think it is a miris striatus)
saw the bigger one at Flickr.... you named it right, sorry for the confusion
Stunning capture Andrea. God bless.
I have seen these before, they always look to me like their heads would be really heavy for some odd reason. Excellent capture!
You didn't mention the iridescent colors and vaguely Art Deco design of this little lady. A fantastic capture and information.
janeeden & I were only just talking today about your amazing bug photo's.
Stunning capture of this very tiny bug. Interesting find and amazing camera work as always Andrea.
Great capture maybe the cause of too few males is that the females are hungry after mating......
Awesome capture!
A gorgeous zoom Andrea and another introduction to an insect that I had no knowledge of!
Very interesting find and shot. I googled and found the name on bug guide dot net also.
Nice.
