Description
this image is emblematic of the relationship that Corrie and I shared and it is to her memory that I dedicate this forest shot at twilight with the sunlight peaking through the trees.
Corrie and I carried a running commentary as it were. She would create a scene of some world and it usually contained a lake or stream.
my comments would include a discussion of eating fresh-caught fish fried with bacon and eggs. she'd have tea while I had coffee as we watched the sun rise over the mountains.
She was an artist beyond compare and I think we all benefitted from her art and gentle wit.
Heaven has a new landscape artist.
I will miss you dear Corrie. Rest in Peace!

A great story about your relationship with our dear friend Corrie, as also a compatriot of me. She had such a great fantasy, and humour. Yes, I still miss her too, and it comforts me she will be able to enjoy an infinite variety of fantasy in heaven.
Marvelous tribute to your friend, love it!

very touching, Mike...I'd heard about Corrie, and seen her wonderful work a few times. When she died, I saw how a number of people honored and remembered her with great love. But I never knew her. Your image is soft and quiet, and it shimmers. I can't help but think of many hammocks in your image, as if they were places you two rested and shared inspirations (whether digitally or in person). Your memory is beautiful. She must've been a very special person. You've had your share of losses...my sympathies go out to you. It never gets easier no matter how often it happens, and I wish you peace as time goes on. I've quoted from this before, but as a great poem of the 20th C ends ("Sonnet to My Mother," by George Barker, to his passed mother), may you move "from mourning into morning," and may Corrie be there with you there, in spirit, as you do.
