this is all that's left of a unique signpost in the city of Washougal sidewalk

love it. Loved that you stopped to capture it, and love the strange presence of it, just sitting there on that (very rocky) sidewalk. In closeup like this, it looks like some ancient tribal sign, some symbol that only the tribe understood. Either that or it's a reeeeeeally primal representation of a rocket ready to take off...Wonderful capture, with wonderful patterns and the mystery of something that has no reason to be there, but is. You have a terrific eye for forms, patterns, etc. It's great that you photographed this sight. Because of limited time and energy right now, I can't comment on everything I want to; but I see all your uploads, and it's always exciting to see how you constantly see the world through your artistic eye. This piece looks pretty "straight from the camera," but it still feels totally fresh to me. Terrific work. I hope to be back for more comments soon. (And thanks, as always, for your thoughtful comments to me, and to all the other people you comment on here. I always read you, wherever I see you've commented...)
Strange, and interesting shot... A good idea to take a picture of this piece...
