Description
The small island in the middle of Lake Bled in Slovenia. Access by small boats called "Pletnas". Like a twin oared agricultural gondola! The single operator rows a boat full of 20 people to the island in the standing position! Then after 98 stone steps you are up to the church. It is considered good luck for a groom to carry his bride up before their wedding. I joked such a feat would mean consummation may have to be a few nights after. As his legs won't work for some time after he gets out of hospital! Anyway a beautiful place and I admire their no engine powered boats allowed on the lake preserving the tranquillity.
