Description
After spending the last 12 straight days working 9-10 hour long shifts, I *finally* have a break.
Naturally that leads to balancing rocks, because that's how I "roll" (if you'll pardon the pun) when I'm stressed.
I actually assembled about 8 different stacks this evening. None of them particularly tall, but all of them seemed to follow this theme of gravity-defying taunts aimed and the physics gods of the universe.
Believe it or not, this is relaxing for me!
Those of you who've seen these things from me before know the drill, but just to be clear: No glue. No strings, sticks, special sand to help steady them, and no Photoshop Tricks (Or Jedi Mind Tricks, alas) These things are only held up by gravity and friction.
And maybe a little help from Douglas Adams' "because it's art!" principle.

Very Cool ;-)
and I love this concept! Great scene you've created - for some, this is nothing more than pure magic - and you have it in spades! you are the magic man of rocks
the last time I was at Arches National Park I saw stones piled up and I was thinking of you. outstanding balancing
Marvelous creation and composition... Amazing sculpture and picture also !
Not really sure how you managed that top rock. But I'm hardly balanced, so... yeah. Nicely done.
Ye gods...... 12 days of 9-10 hour shifts with out a break?! My hat is off to you, Mike.... I'd have been throwing those rocks at people by day 9... LOL Sounds like a seriously cool and creative way to blow off some steam - and we get to see the amazing results! Cool stuff, my friend!
