This Japanese flag was captured and signed by members of the 2/25th Infantry Battalion, 7 Aust. Division, in July 1945 at Balikpapen in Borneo.

To the Japanese nation, just merely capturing this was defeat enough. This and the rising sun emblem, were/are very sacred in their way of life.
