Description
White Satin Ballet Slippers
I have white satin ballet slippers,
As a beautiful memory of you.
My beautiful little angel wore
Them with her lacey white tutu.
I remember as if it was yesterday,
That day when she danced on stage.
This was her very first dance recital,
And she was only four years of age.
She so loved all those yellow roses,
We gave to her on that wondrous day.
I was such a very proud Mother,
As for her everyone had much praise.
I didn’t know on that beautiful day
That it was to be one of her last few.
I now must savor these lovely memories,
As I stare at her white satin ballet shoes.
I guess God must have needed a ballerina,
To dance for all of His angels in Heaven.
Because soon after He called you away,
And I know for Him you are dancing again.
My dear little angel, I am now left with
So many very delightful memories of you.
I’ll always have these white satin ballet slippers
As an enjoyable remembrance of you too.
