Description
I think this is the Zebra Spider Salticus scenicus, which is a common jumping spider that stalks its prey on walls, rocks and tree trunks in the sun, before leaping on it - they can jump up to 10cm, an amazing leap for someone only 5-7mm long. Zebra Spiders frequent gardens and sometimes come into houses. Males attract females through a complex courtship dance, moving around the females with their legs waving in the air. The females create a silk cocoon in which the eggs are protected, and guards the nest until the young hatch.
Another rather better angle

A lovely specimen and a great shot.
I like spiders, we have had a few big ones living in the house from time to time. We called one Fred & when l asked Hester if Fred was around she would run into the room & look up the wall :0)))
Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.
Great shot of this creepy crawler / jumper and interesting information. Not usually afraid of spiders but this one has my hair standing up. Our little black one's don't jump, but can suspiciously be found crawling around the bathtub. Think I will stay with Ladybugs ! Smiles...
Both excellent shots!
Excellent shots !!!
What a hairy beast. Two super shots. We human males will also dance and move around the female although we only wave our arms. Its called "Hey you, look over here."
pretty
I had one of these on the lavatory window board one time, happily killing the little black flies that seen to like the paintwork there. Funny I never thought to capture it, but it was a few years ago now, and I didn't have the kit I have now. Great shots!
Very creepy, but I like spiders.
How interesting - he's blond - all mine are blackish in color. Cool shot - they are the cutest of all spiders.
Super shot of this little sunglass spider ;-) Well captured.
Awesome capture of this scary looking spider!
A great zoom of your photo and a beautiful pair of eyes!
