Nice 1920's effect is this rain car photo. Is it really in sepia, or is that actually rust covering everything?

your rail shots have been wonderful. Here you've given it a 30's/40's feel, in the sepia, which is tinged with pink (giving it a feeling of nostalgia, of looking back). And your background is captured as deep and desolate---even though there might be rich nature back there. And there's plenty of grit and grime on the railcar, soil and spots included. The composition allows the car to dominate, but the sudden open space (on the left) roots it in vastness. This feels so much like the wonderful shots from the Farm Security Administration projects of the earlier 20th C, and if I didn't know it was your gallery, I might have assumed it was from then. A Depression beauty from your hands. Those photographers (and what a bunch) treated deep open spaces the way you did here, and they gave total respect to machinery, as you have here. It's a fine crop too. More fine work from you with the things of everyday life. And your sepia is just right.
