Description
This was a shot that was just too noisy & out of focus to salvage by ordinary means, but there was still something I liked about it, so I used some filters to turn it into an abstract. You can still see some of the anemone structures, but this is close to the limit of how much I would push an image & still consider it photography (& maybe beyond the limits for some). Ultimately, though, either you'll like a visual image or not & it doesn't make all that much difference how you label or categorize it, does it?

thank god for the photos that don't behave---they give artists like you the opportunity to explore a whole other language. One could say an "inner" language. This feels like a nighttime shot of the anemone(s), where a lot of parties are going on inside. But it also feels like an enhanced microscopic capture of microscopic colonies. Or an infrared photo of some cabbage leaves. Take your pic---it's a penetrating inside-look at the inner energies of a living thing. Your edge work of luminous blues bring out the curly-que feeling of the lines of nature, and how they break into cellular units everywhere. And their contrast with those yellows and purples (etc) are striking. A beautiful abstraction made from a closeup of nature; and very organic and beautiful. I'm only here for 2 shots today, so choosing is very difficult given the vividness and allure of all you've posted; and believe me if I'd chosen a different pair, I'd have been equally excited. But I wanted to cheer for another of your re-workings of photos that didn't quite make it, because it gave you the opportunity to do a cellular glimpse into nature, and it is truly grand.
This is almost like a nighttime neon lighting capture - I like it!
