Description
Captured 3/16/15, a couple of miles from home, then postworked as close to his style as I could on 3/21/15.
For my friend, Mark: artist, abstractionist, art analyst/critic, dilettante, bon vivant, raconteur, musician, photographer, historian, humanitarian, empathist, philosopher, writer, et al, this is my contribution in re his birthday, falling on a date I'm not sure of. Hope you had a good one, are having a good one, or will have a good one.
Plus, getting old is not for sissies.
Bye.

Beautiful work on this one too. Birthdays are like a ride on the rails; hopefully not on a runaway train, but one with a few pleasant stops long the way. I was reminded again that I too am getting older as I purchased new glasses today and had to opt for bifocals for the first time.
Harry, this is absolutely perfect; I'm sure Mark himself will have much to say, all of it exactly right on target as always. All I can say is you picked a wonderful shot for his birthday dedication, and I love the way this came out!
Absolutely wonderful !!!!
Very great perspective and picture... Great manipulations also !!!
well first of all, Harry, I'm deeply honored that you did this on your 3500th image, and moved that honor to your 3501st, to give me top billing on last night's uploads. I'm honored to be part of one of your milestones. But more importantly, I love what you did with this---I love your track shots to begin with; but here, you doused the whole image in a dissolving light, and got these 'threshold' forms peeking through, as if this were from an alternate planet. Love the intense reds, yellows, blues and greens: They're like Warhol's, or the way the Pop Art artists used hues in the 80's---very graphic and bold. You can be happy to know I wouldn't know how to do this---I'd never achieve such saturated hues in such a high key treatment. And as for your words, thank you so much for all you said! I hope I'm good at even a 4th of that. I greatly appreciate everything you see in me and in my work, it makes a great deal of difference to me; and I'm very grateful that you shared it here for my birthday. I didn't tell anyone about the date, btw; and with all your battles with health, I just couldn't bring myself to talk about my birthday when you're dealing with so much more important stuff. But you got the day exactly---but if you got it 3 months late, I'd still be grateful for your kindness and support, and of course for what you share with us in your gallery everyday. Thank you so much for all of it. And congratulations on 3500!!! I'll get to the following uploads soon (I loved them both), but thank you for this gift, Harry. It's marvelous. (ps---I don't know if you get ebots for the forum, but if you don't, please go see Lucinda's addition to your 'Gallery of the Month' thread. I assume you've seen the others by now---she wrote a beautiful tribute, and said it better than I could. It adds to what everyone else already said. Congratulations again!)
A wonderful gift for Mark; the high key effect is quite dramatic!!
