I used to show the Border Collies in obedience lots of years ago. When I got Jenna my first Munster, she was so laid back that by the time I had worked her up into a working mode I was jiggered, so I never really went back to it seriously. With the Munsters I played at it, Hester loved working as did Carla 'B' & Jasmine, they were the same temperament. We have a thing in the show world called the Gud Citizens tests, Bronze, Silver & Gold. They consist of various obvious obedience tests, which really every dog should be able to do, getting harder as they pass each one. So, Miss Truly has been going training for her Bronze award & she will take the test on Monday. She has been very eager to learn, seeing as I don't take it as seriously as I used to, if I might say so myself, she is a very clever little dog. She has to do things like, stay in one place for a minute, recall, heelwork with other dogs, socialise with the dogs, wait to go through a door after me, has to be groomed & ears, feet etc examined, collar & lead taken off without her going off anywhere, simple tasks like that. Then I am asked simple questions like, when would you take your dog to the vets, what are their basic needs etc. I am more worried about the questions as to wether Truly will do her bit :o))) All the girls have done them, Jasmine passed Bronze, Silver & Gold before she was a year, but I have only just started with Truly. I will let you all know if she passes or not :o)))) Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx
