original close-up ! I don't know this system in France !!!
I have to say that this one is rather unusual, Harry.
GReat capture my friend !!!
well seen and captured
Excellent shot Harry. As usual, you've spotted a fascinating abstract in the most mundane of places that most of us would never have even noticed. And the little sandbags make a perfect decorative border...
This brings up all sorts of "why" questions...the concrete surround looks new, but the manhole cover looks ancient (with runic markings and alien drawings). And sandbags? Something must have been leaking, I guess. Fantastic find and excellent capture!
Ditto Claude and Denise. "Runic markings and alien drawings"---yes: If someone came to earth in 1000 years, and dug this up, they could think these markings had deep cultural significance. (Inspiring several scholarly treatises on the hidden meanings of these great metal findings...) A great find. And, with Claude, the sandbags do make a wonderful border. They remind me of a team of ants marching away and making a little curve in their formation to accommodate the raised manhole cover. (And the logo on the bags looks a bit like sanskrit or similar---with flame-design on both sides of the bags! Great detail!) And that neatly placed stone lei around the manhole cover, with such new clean sidewalk...This is a very rich capture, your eye was totally alive: It's a sidewalk pastry, and the crop centers the manhole perfectly, while all this other stuff goes on around it---like this were a piece of urban art. Love this capture. Very clear, and beautifully cropped.
