Description

We have been in some unusual weather here. we have had temps below 0 and had an ice storm. This little Gold Finch was very happy to have any food I put out.

Beautiful shot, Bev. Looks like his feet are frozen in ice on the branch. Bless you for caring about even such small creatures. I bet he was hungry - a lot of energy just to keep warm, and no place to find it. Last week here was cold and wet, but at zero centigrade, which made for sleet and slippery spots everywhere. Thanks for the videos - love seeing the critters scampering about. Raccoon ice hockey is fun! Thanks to a colleague (who searched the Internet) I now know what groundhog is in Swedish - murmeldjur (djur = animal, murmel = ???). But native only to North America. Most folks guessed a beaver without tail! I got a few laughs from that! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next photo surprise! :-)
