Description
Full Moon over Atlantis........
A full moon rises over the fabled city-state of Atlantis.
This image caused me some problems. My loyal computer kept running out of memory and crashing. eventually It produced this. I am quite happy with it. I have dedicated this image to my Amazing, Beautiful Wife. (kisses, baby! XXXXXX)
credit where credit is due:
fountain model by Promethias (free stuff)
Triera ship also from free stuff, cannot remember the creator (sorry)
Roman triumphal arch/arena by Martin62 (free stuff)
Tempietto temple, Balustrades, Garden pavilions (lighthouses *ahem), by Simon Stockley (free stuff)
Orichalcum* alloy (gold stuff) on fountains and tempietto muddled together by me.
(exerpt from Wikipedia)
*Orichalcum or aurichalcum is a metal mentioned in several ancient writings,
including a story of Atlantis in the Critias dialogue, recorded by Plato.
According to Critias (460 – 403 BC), orichalcum was considered second only to gold in value,
and was found and mined in many parts of Atlantis in ancient times.
By the time of Critias, however, orichalcum was known only by name.
Enjoy....

The moon get an extra attention and overwhelming proportion in this scene. Very well excecuted. A very impressive image.
