Description
Not sure about the origin of the name but this is the type of walk way built by Neolithic man to traverse the Avalon Marshes on the Somerset Levels.
For those who like to research on the web I am sure a lot of info can be found.

Awesome picture!!! Great find!!!!!!!!
Very interesting and wonderful work. Beautiful image
Well Jeff, I did look it up (couldn't help myself). Fascinating construct. Our ancestors were much smarter than we give them credit for. The track was built in either 3807 or 3806 BC and is named for the man who found it, Ray Sweet. I don't know if what you captured is one of the reconstructions or part of the original but it is a great shot.
A practical and efficient construction; cool shot!
I like this my friend
lot of history here. cool
Very cool capture at first I thought it was a weapon but this is even better
They look a bit dangerous to a running deer, doesnt it? Excellent shot though.
Great shot mate, I like this a lot. Such an age to a mere pathway, we have so much history here.

Looks like something knocked up by Time Team.
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
How very interesting to see this amusing and wonderful looking shot, Jeff. It looks like the tree has forbidden to the the reeds, to be able to grow in that place from him.
I like historical photos like this Jeff and your explanation of it's use! Wishing you and yours a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year for 2015
