Description

This is a typical roman kitchen ( 1st century A.D. ) with the toilets just near the brick stove!!!!! On the wooden toilets seat, you can see a water jug. A sponge tied to a wooden stick was dropped inside. The strange shape of the hole is due to the fact that people used the sponge and the stick to wash their back. The cooking water or dishwater was used to clean up the toilets by dropping it under the seat : a small chanel was going to the sewer. Morality: I presume that you knew how were made roman public toilets, you will know how were made roman private toilets. Just my private opinion : I like the smell of the good cooking, not the smell of the primitive toilets. Not sure that I should have liked the both together...
