Description
More of my once hidden and/or neglected fun and imaginative period of Bryce and Poser work from 2002 through 2006, now on display.
For the newer viewers, this was originally posted some years ago on this gallery, but it's always worth another shot.
The War of the Worlds is a science fiction novel by English author H. G. Wells. It first appeared in serialized form in 1897, published simultaneously in Pearson's Magazine in the UK and Cosmopolitan magazine in the US. The first appearance in book form was published by William Heinemann of London in 1898. It is the first-person narrative of an unnamed protagonist in Surrey and that of his younger brother in London as Earth is invaded by Martians. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories that detail a conflict between mankind and an extraterrestrial race. The novel is one of the most commented-on works in the science fiction canon. At least three movies have since been produced based on this novel.

This is my interpretation of the novel, and it was a lot of fun to do, my pride and joy. I don't recall where I got the Martian machines, but I did conjure up the heat rays the invaders were using to decimate the cities and countryside.

Fantastic image and creation... Outstanding work my friend !!!
splendid and outstanding composition about "the War of the Worlds"...
Excellent creation! Very well crafted to depict the classic.
This is cool work.
Harry, this is a very cool image and coming from someone who has seen every version of the classic that is saying something.
Superb creation !!!
Wow, Harry, those are some seriously armed aphids you've got there! Excellent and very fun work, I'm impressed!
I'll be back for more, Harry, but I woke up a little bit ago and wanted to do this to tell you how much fun I had viewing it. The space ships/pods are these wonderful insect-human heads, who seem to be having a fun time, even as they blow up god-knows-what below (London, late 19th C, accdg to your notes), you did them with real panache and humor. And the yellow is so bright and saturated, another of your really strong hues in this series, and it makes it all the more playful. I know this is a scene of devastation, but somehow you always turn everything into a playful wonderfully fresh, new dance, in this series. You did it here, again. You blended it over the background sky (which looks like a photo) seamlessly---that yellow against all that dark orange and purple makes it all jump out to us. This series continues to be a joy for me, and a revelation...
