Description

Greetings Folks, And, especially Mike (Maxidyne).. On my recent trip to London I decided as well as Bomber Command Memorial (and the Quireboys), I'd seek out this building.. For those of a certain age and 'fan' base, THIS is the place where it all began and indeed ended! This is the home of Hammer Films.. As well as Hammer, Tigon occupied offices in it as well.. It can be seen in some of the recent bluray Documentary making of's.. And in various Promo films of the time, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth being notable.. Nowadays Hammer have made a come back from the 'grave'.. They made The Woman In Black the biggest British money maker of all time! Go figure! They won in the past, the Queens award for Industry and a number of BAFTAS, for their hard hitting War Films.. Yep they made them as well.. So, this is for Mike, yes its not a pretty building but Wardour Street is the home of dozens of Films Company's.. A who's Who of the movers and shakers.. Rob P.S. Can you tell I'm a big fan?

I swear I can see Christopher Lee in an upstairs window.....how cool they've kept the name so prominent, and not just a little blue plaque you could walk passed and miss....it must have been an amazing place to work in the heyday.....

Terrific capture of this rectangular potpourri of old, mate, with its really unusual windows. I remember watching many Hammer films myself. Glad they're making a comeback.

From one true Hammer fan to another I really appreciate this. I've never been here but on my next trip to London i'll be sure to go there. Hammer films have been a huge part of my life since childhood, just the other night I was watching Quatermass 2 again. Cheers mate :)
