Description
This looks like the side of a hill with trees and plants. It is for the most part ,but the part that looks like a hill is actually lava from eons ago volcanic eruptions near Crater Lake. We were on our way there, only find the road to it had closed the day before. Talk about bad timing!!

It seems like a big gorge cut into a forest---a sight common in that part of the country. The strong white lighting on it makes stand out. And in zoom, one can see I assume flowers drooping from the branches, drooping as if left over from a new year's eve party the night before, and all the detritus thrown around was left in the trees. A beautiful gorge.
we drove the motorhome through there on a rainy/snowy day last fall, and I can tell you, if they close the road, you should be glad you were'nt on it. It was the most horrible drive we ever took! Not too bad in the car, but it was scary as all getout in the motorhome. There's no shoulder around the West rim, and it's a shear drop off about 1,000,000 feet to the bottom.
A great shot.
The magic of nature...lovely shot!
