Description
going back to this latest archery season, as always, I have my camera with me. this is a large patch of lichen on the ground (maybe Andrea can help with identification)
the total size across was about 45cm. the colour is the cool part
Thanks to the help of Andrea, I can possibly identify this as Physoconia grisea. it matches the images pretty closely.
Thanks Andrea!

Very cool shot :) And I liked all comments...they made me giggle :) Thank You for that !!!
Lovely capture!
Great one! Really nice shot!
Great colors... wonderfully done !
Amazing, it looks like an abstract painting, outstanding!!!!!
I wouldn't have a clue about the species Mike, but I can tell it was taken in less than ideal light. Does the color there represent the color of the lichen? I say that, because I can sense a copper sulphate green/blue but the overall light has that tinge too, so I am less sure of the accurate color with which to research perhaps on line. Your work always gets us talking!
Amazing capture!!!
Superb capture of this neat find!
very interesting lichen!
Great find. What exactly is lichen, anyway, lol?
Oh, reminds me of the blob from outer space ... Hopefully it eats no people. LOL Great photo, Mike!
A great capture Mike and as you know - I am liking Lichen!
Growing on the ground and with those spots, it is certainly not a Physia. Big, pale green when dry, dark green when wet, it is either Peltigera apthosa or Peltigera elizabethae
Pretty sure that's Litchen, but don't quote me on that LOL Nice photo mate Rob
