Description
Been experimenting with hypervoxels to see effect when building an asteroid belt of some sort been coming up with some interesting things, its amazing how powerful HV is when you want to do something like an asteroid belt

The scale seems off for the distant asteroids. I don't think you should be able to see the textures of individual asteroids way over on the opposite side of the planet...
hmmmm did not see that thanks i will fix that strech it out ya thanks
I can sympathize with the dificulty of asteroid belts. I ahve spent quite some time trying to create a beleivable Saturn Orbit image for an animation. Hypervoxels are good for the innerlying dust and gases of the rings, however, the actual asteroids, ice, etc is best done with about 4 (yeah only 4) diverse polygonal objects with bump maps in different rotations, not only does it look like its different all around, it allows you to make the color and shape less uniform. Plus, render time is cut significantly. Looks pretty cool though :D
I would love to see an example cptfish of your asteroid belt
also on the scale point..... the asteroids look kinda similar in size thruoughout.... maybe up the hv particle size variation a bit....
THE ASTEROID BELT LOOKS GOOD BROTHER. I'M A BIG SCI FI FAN, AND THOSE DETAILED ASTEROIDS WITH THE SHADOWS HITTING THEM JUST RIGHT BRINGS ME RIGHT INTO THE PICTURE.......ITS LIKE I'M THERE. QUESTION?.. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO RENDER ALL OF THOSE ASTEROIDS? OR DO YOU KNOW A TRICK?
