Description
The West Valley is part of Phoenix's 'Valley of the Sun'. Located about 50 miles west of the Valley of the Sun is the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the largest in the United States. Nearby the Palo Verde Nuclear Station are three gas-powered power plants.
The combined energy generated there is sent via massive transmission lines, similar to the one in this photo, to other states.
Below the power lines is a cotton field, ready to be harvested. Cotton is one of the five 'C's' that put Arizona on the map; the other being copper, citrus, climate, and cattle.
