Description
The Ute and Paiute tribes have lived in Utah for 10,000 years. If you keep your eyes open you can find traces of their presence everywhere. On the way back from Delicate Arch I stopped to view these Ute petroglyphs. It looks like they were hunting antelope.

I seen them along the way. great capture
did you take time to visit the old homestead there that was made by a pioneering black man
The cabin is just down the trail from the petroglyphs. I took a picture of it but I'm not sure if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Fantastic place and great capture !
Very fine ,interesting and beautiful document !!
I find these very moving to look at.
Fabulous capture Mark
Several of the figures looks like a person mounted on a horse. If so, the image cannot be more than about 400 years old as horses,(which evolved in N. America) had been hunted to extinction in N. America many years before the Spanish re-introduced them in the 16th century.
Hello 62guy, You are absolutely correct. The petroglyphs are most likely from the mid-17th century according to park literature.
This is a super shot Mark and I too have seen this.
That must have been fascinating to see! Cool shot. Thanks for filling in some gaps! :)
