Description
Members of a high school marching band shown relaxing and hobnobbing in preparation to their appearance on Les boulevard, captured 10/18/14.
Several bands participated in this event, drawing thousands of viewers. I must have photographed all of the marchers. Furthermore, tons more of this event to be posted.
Incidentally, you probably knew this already, but the cylindrical hat with the plume that the marching bands wear is called a shako. Better than a beret, in my estimation.
Finally, I don't know if it's just me, but I have attended both the parades from 2006 and 2014, and while taking pictures of these groups, have received only suspicious scowls and no smiles from them while they were just standing around prior to marching. That's when I really feel like an interloper. What is their problem? I can understand barking dogs, but why this? Invasion of privacy? Gimme a break. Quite a contrast to the Renaissance Faire, where I was greeted with open arms and/or wide grins.
Adjo, baby.

they all dressed up to play. look cool
Looks like they are all set for the parade, Harry.
you can store your surprise in your pocket !!! they are too full of their people, or their uniforms ... the Renaissance fair is much more focused on the actual knowledge of European society, so more cultural !!!
I have no idea what the meaning of your top sentences is all about.
Very fine reportage !
Interesting pictures of all those people in their uniforms. Hopefully they have not played any boring military marches.
Fantastic capture and wonderful sceness!!!
Maybe they're disobeying orders in the way they are standing about; also, and this is more likely the reason, remember they are teenagers, generally known to be surly to anyone not in their clique! Or perhaps they're in the Federal Witness Protection Program and are afraid of being outed? Whatever, your excellent shots show that these kids don't do a very good job of projecting a wholesome and friendly image of the band! You should send them to the school(s) as evidence. Well shot and presented, Harry!
