Description
Podarcis muralis . A juvenile. It was about 4"/10cms long. Adults reach 12-18cms and it takes 2 years for a male and 3 for a female to reach maturity. They are not native to the UK.
There are many of these sunning themselves and hunting on the cliff on a sunny day.
It wasn't scared of Tizzy..amazing! I suppose if you are born next to a busy zigzag cliff path people are just part of the landscape.
It is thought that introduced colonies, particularly this one in Bournemouth, may have already had a detrimental effect on the native lizard populations.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Wonderful macro shot of this creepy crawler ! Thanks for sharing Andrea.
I love lizards anyway but as you say it must be detrimental to our own species.

A nice detailed image of this little climber.
This is one thing I`ve never seen up here of any description ,not even newts now !
Superb shot! Great detail, with it balancing 2 grains of sand on it's head. It could win Britain's got talent! I'd have never seen one in the UK. I didn't know we had an invasion of them either.
Wow, didn't expect to see one of these!!!!
What a surprise capture, Lizards are so fascinating and this is a great find and shot of this little fellow.
Marvelous detail in this shot; what a handsome fellow!
wonderful
What a beauty, we don't see these around here.
So many animals here now that are not native. I wonder what the attraction is? Possibly introduced for pest control?
Ah now that will teach me to read all the text, I see they were introduced, I bet there was a monetary agenda behind it.
I like the subtle colors ... it's a lovely creature! Hope it doesn't take over ...
Very nice capture... they always run away from me.
Interesting - a lizard with a snakes head! We have so many invasive plants and animals down here - I can't keep track of which are indigenous!
