Description
I was asked to photograph a regatta for radio controlled sailing yachts. I've never done it before so didn't know what to expect. It was the stillest day they have ever known and so misty the boats disappeared 30 yards away. It got better though the mist went after 2 hours and a light breeze got up. This is a shot of a conditions test! There where 30 yachts so the races got more exciting than this. It was the most arty shot though!

The almost perfectly smooth gray background & the absence of a horizon line give this an unusually flat, abstract quality. I could easily have believed that this was modeled in a software program rather than being a photo...
It is a strange mixture of mist and dead calm! Luckily for the sailors it changed a little, it got clearer and a slight breeze came.

Amazing capture my friend. I just wanted to ask where are the people that are suppose to be in the yachts after I viewed your capture and then saw after i read that it is radio controlled yachts. The water is very calm. Amazing capture my friend. God bless.
