Description
These are oil pitchers in a lighthouse on the Oregon coast, and would have been used before the lights were electrically powered. Part of the light keeper's job was to climb the stairs and refill the oil lamp.
This is for Rod's wife, Jo. Her favorite team, the Royals, won a big game tonight, and they're going to the playoffs! My interest in baseball is pretty low, I'll admit, but it's important to Jo, so I care when her team wins. :)
So Rod, make sure you tell Jo about this before you forget! LOL! We haven't left Washington yet, but we'll keep you posted, and will make sure we pick a day to get together that doesn't interfere with a game! :D

Copper and brass can be sterile at times, but you've given these lots of character!
I just called Jo down to my 'lair' and showed her this - I should have had my camera in hand (silly me), because she just got the biggest grin on her face! LOL Thank you, Tara! From Jo and me! :-D She may really need cheering up if the Royals don't make it past the playoffs! :-D As always, you manage to see - and capture - such beauty in things most of us would just give a cursory glance to. These are lovely, and you've done them justice, my dear friend! Looking forward to seeing you two again!
