Description
I wanted to see how this PS Action looked with a full image. Imagine this is a single panel, not a page. For the city in the background, I used one Dystopia model. I made three layers of the city. I blurred the background layer, and then added a gradient black over it to create the kind of shadow you would see as distance and height are simulated. I made the midground a cutout, and then traced lines over the edges to create distance. For this I used the pen tool and then stroked the resulting path using a 5 and 7 calligraphic styled brush with pressure on. After changing the saturation and hue of the midground and background, I pasted this familiar cutout of Isotope into the foreground. The I used the liquify tool to enlarge her upper half and arm, and to reduce the size of her legs to create perspective. Why all this work? Because if I am ever going to make a real attempt at a comic, I need to be able to produce results that transforms 3D into great 2D. I think these results are pretty good. I have a few more ideas on what to do, so the future will tell all.
